Truck Cleaning Guide To Improve Your Health & Wellbeing

When you’re on the road, your truck is more than just your vehicle - it’s your home. It’s where you’ll spend the majority of your time, whether you’re driving, eating, or sleeping. As a result, learning how to clean your truck is almost as important as learning to drive it. A dirty truck can be detrimental to both your physical and mental health. To help you get started, here are some cleaning tips to improve your truck’s interior and exterior.

Choose the Right Materials

Whether you’re cleaning the inside or the outside of your truck, one of the most important things you can do is pick the right truck cleaner. Make sure to shop around and do your research. A cleaner that has worked for someone else may not be the right option for you and your truck.

Keep the Inside Clean

Thankfully, keeping the inside clean isn’t much different from keeping a home clean. Since you’ll be eating in your truck often, you’ll want to make sure that you’re not leaving any food or trash laying around for long periods of time. This can cause pests and even lead to mold buildup. If you spill something while eating or drinking, try to clean it as soon as possible.

Try to keep it tidy too. As you travel, it’s easy to collect things: receipts, small knick knacks, etc. When you’re in such a small place, you’ll want to make sure you’re not overwhelmed with clutter. Try keeping a specific area for paperwork.

Keep the Outside Clean

Keeping the outside of your truck clean is just as important as the inside. Whether you’re driving for yourself or for a company, your truck is your branding, and so it’s important to keep it in good condition.

Over days and weeks on the road, it’s easy for grime and dirt to build up, especially depending on where you’re driving and the weather conditions. As a result, pre-soaking is a great way to help loosen up any dirt to make washing easier.

From there, washing your truck isn’t much different from washing a car. You’ll want to make sure to use a truck cleaner that’s safe so as not to cause any damages and gently scrub away all dirt and grime. Make sure to soap up, scrub, and rinse one area of your truck at a time. It’s important not to rush the process and make sure each area is getting properly cleaned and rinsed.

Once it’s clean, rinse your truck a final time and dry it.

When you’re done, you’ll want to wax your truck. This may be different from your routine with a normal car. Waxing helps keep your truck clean longer while also protecting it from the elements as you drive. A fresh wax coat can also help prevent rain from building up while you drive, which may help you to see better.

Staying Clean on the Road

The best way to stay clean on the road is to develop a habit. Whenever you’re stopped, do a quick tidy to remove any trash from the inside of your truck. Also, wash the exterior whenever convenient. It’s easier to clean when dirt and grime is fresh.
